A way of livingexplore – inspire – celebrate – build – create [gallery] For me creativity is a way of living, sometimes a means of surviving, always a way of sharing. My mediums move primarily between ceramics, glass, and paint. I am drawn to explore texture and the effect of time on surfaces. I try to create art to live with and touch, life enhancing pieces that connect to the environment and heritage of these islands. My inspiration is drawn from the coastline and legends of this place I call home. Inspiring creativity in others is integral to my life as an artist. Classes and WorkshopsInspiring the creativity in others is one of the joys of my life as an artist. I facilitate workshops for schools, community organizations, charities, craft groups as well as art parties for groups of friends. Workshops can be based around a theme using a variety of mediums or around a skill using one particular medium. [gallery] Popular skill based classes include: Ceramics : Raku firing / Throwing on a potter’s wheel / Paper-clay sculpture / Hand-building Fused Glass Mosaic Paper-making Workshops can be brought to a location in the community or sometimes facilitated at the studio in Downhill.
- Pottery Painting and Craft Parties in Northern IrelandPottery Painting is a fun accessible activity for groups (minimum 10 pieces) that we host at Elements Studio in Downhill. We specialize in hen parties and children’s birthday parties. Pottery painting can also travel to other locations in the community for groups or parties. Prices range between £12.50 – £25.00 per piece including paints and firing + flat rate studio fee per group. Minimum booking is for 10 pieces. After painting the pieces are fired in the kilns in Downhill and are ready in 3 days for collection. Fired pottery is dishwasher safe and oven proof! Parties are booked for 2 hours slots, tea and coffee is included and for parties in Downhill use of a catering kitchen is available.
