Private Pottery Lessons in Northern Ireland
I offer a limited number of private lessons at my studio in Downhill each week!
Have you always wanted to try throwing on a potter’s wheel?
Whether you are looking to improve a particular skill or are just dying to ‘have a go’ on the wheel private lessons give you total focused attention on learning in a peaceful and beautiful environment. A private pottery lesson is a special day out to either treat yourself or share with up to 4 people. Couples enjoy lessons for 2 as a special date or celebration. As a family day out sharing a new experience together is a wonderful way to make memories and have special souvenirs of the day.
What can you learn?
Private lessons can focus on throwing on a potter’s wheel, learning to hand-build with coils / slabs, or small sculpture projects.
What does it cost?
A 2 hour session for one person is £50 including all materials. A second person can be added for +£20. A half-day taster session exploring a variety of making methods costs £75 for one person including materials. Additional people up to 4 can be added to half-day lessons for £25 each. Firing costs are minimal depending on the size of the piece(s), normally £3-£5 per piece. I use high grade professional clays and single firing methods to allow pieces to be made, decorated, and glazed in a single session.
Yes, we can do gift certificates!
Perhaps someone you love has expressed an interest in learning to make pots or sculpture out of clay and you would like to give them a gift certificate for the experience for a special occasion.
